Okay, I can’t put it any other way… I am SO SO SO excited. I ran to the bookstore earlier today and picked up a copy of Twinkle’s Big City Knits and another book, Fitted Knits, and I want to make EVERYTHING! I just don’t know where to start… (as if I don’t already have 50 million projects going on!!) I’m already on ebay stocking up on the needle sizes I will need. I also just scored some Addi circular needles that were made in Germany, and being half German I just had to get them πŸ™‚

So now I am going to be starting on Kelly Maher’s Ribbed Lace Bolero, and I am very excited. This will be my first piece to wear. Up to this point, I’ve just been making scarves, headbands, bags and throws… so hopefully I don’t screw up too much ! I’ll be putting some pictures up soon – probably in my next post.

  1. Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
There’s good and less good points about making the Tilted Duster your first sweater. One good thing is it’s a bit more forgiving in the fit department, since it mostly hangs open. It’s also pretty straightforward on the long part, with the ribbing, that hangs down. The upper part is an interesting construction – not difficult! but different than a run-of-the-mill sweater. Another good point is it’ll give you experience seaming in sleeves, (which no one likes!!!), picking up stitches, placing buttons and making buttonholes.
Good luck with it! I hope you enjoy making it πŸ™‚
